Description
Bwindi Backpackers lodge is located on the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable National park in south western Uganda. This lodge is of one kind travelers paradise located on the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable National park a world heritage site the home to 2 great apes i.e Chimpanzee and Mountain Gorillas. It is on a top of a hill that shares the boundary with bwindi forest with immediate access of the road network suitable for all cars from saloon cars to big overlander trucks.
Our Rooms
Our backpackers lodge has a number of rooms, all of which are furnished to give you a great stay. The unit comes with room service, free internet and free parking. A restaurant and bar/lounge are part of the unit. Free breakfast is offered.
The rooms are divided into; Single Room Shared Bathroom, Twin Room Shared Bathroom and Double Room Shared Bathroom.
We have a dormitory and spacious space for camping if you have your own tent .The dormitories come with room service, free Internet and free parking. There is a restaurant and bar/lounge near the dormitories. Free breakfast is offered.
The dormitory is divided into four; the big dormitory, mixed dormitory, female dormitory and male dormitory.
Bwindi Backpackers has three spacious cottages.
The cottages offers excellent room service free Internet and free parking. A restaurant and bar/lounge are situated within close proximity to the cottage. Free breakfast is included.
The cottages are divided into Twin/Double Bed Cottage, 3 Bedroom Cottage and Single Bed Cottage.
The lodge is a good place with magnificent views of Bwindi national park. the staff is good and the service is also good. It is a nearby accommodation facility to track most of the groups of Rushaga and Nkuringo.
How to access Bwindi Backpackers lodge
You can come by bus to Kabale and get the lodge shuttle while in Kabale or drive direct to Bwindi if having own transport means alternatively use other buses stopping in Kabale and you will be picked from the bus station.
The Lodge Shuttle
You can get to the lodge by the Shuttle which takes its clients every day from Kabale to the lodge (Bwindi National Park) at 10:30 am & 4:30 pm daily at Bwindi Backpackers lodge booking office
From Kisoro Town
To the lodge is 32 km on murram road approx. 1 hr drive by car or hire motor cycle. While at the lodge transport arrangements to your gorilla tracking point and back to Kisoro or Kabale can be arranged.
From Kigali-Rwanda
Bwindi back pack packers lodge has a shuttle from Nyabugogo at Virunga Express Park in Kigali office to Kabale daily at 3:00 pm (Rwanda time). Virunga express bus service have different bus terminals in Rwanda so board any bus from any part of Rwanda up to Kigali Virunga Express office in Nyabugogo taxi park.
If you are in Musanze (Ruhengeri) board the Matatu to Chanika-Rwanda-Uganda boarder where you will be picked to the next destination.
