Ruhija Gorilla Permits

To all gorilla treks in the Ruhija region/trailhead, visitors must have secured valid gorilla permits. Generally, a single permit for Ruhija gorilla trekking costs US$800 per person, which applies to international tourists, US$700 per visitor (this caters to foreign residents), & the rest of the African can secure permits at US$500.

Getting to Nyundo Valley Hill Bandas

Access to Nyundo Valley Hill Bandas can be done by road/air. Embarking on a road transport requires at least 9-10 hours for you to reach Nyundo Valley Hill Bandas at Ruhija region. The bandas are situated in Southwestern Uganda, and visitors can also connect from Kigali via Chanika or Katuna border in about 4-5 hours. If you consider air transportation, expect to take between 1 and 2 hours to reach Kihihi or Kisoro Airstrip.
