Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Drive to Kibale Forest National Park
On day 1 of your 7 days Uganda Rwanda Safari, meet up with our Company representative for a briefing and transfer to Kibale Forest National Park in western Uganda. Your trip will last about 6-7 hours and will involve having a stop at Nakayima Tree in Mubende for cultural exploration. Visit to discover how a tree of 600 years offers blessings and make barren women fertile. Continue with your journey until the City of Fort Portal for Lunch. Depending on the time, you might visit the Amabere ga Nyinamwiru Caves and check-in at the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
On the second day of your safari you will have breakfast and meet up with your safari driver for a transfer to Kanyanchu Reception Center. You will meet other trekkers for briefing on the guidelines of trekking chimpanzees-mankind’s closest relatives and at exactly 8am start the primate walk through the forest, in search for the chimpanzee community you have been allocated to. Once found, you will have one hour to be in their presence to take photographs and return to the Lodge for Lunch. Check-out of the Lodge for a transfer to the medley of wonders-Queen Elizabeth National Park, about 4 hours’ drive away.

Day 3: Morning game drive and launch cruise
After a night full of melodies and sweet sound of the wilderness, arise early for breakfast and transfer to the wildlife-rich Kasenyi Plains where you will spot a plethora of wildlife species such as lions, spotted hyenas, leopards, Uganda Kobs, elephants, waterbucks, bushbucks, elands and warthogs as well as several species of birds, reptiles especially pythons and butterflies among others. After this rewarding game drive, return to the Lodge for Lunch. On finishing your delicious meal, be transferred to Mweya Peninsula-at the banks of the Kazinga Channel for the boat cruise that will offer chances of seeing more animals of the Park especially Hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, Uganda Kobs as well as birds on the banks or within the nearby wetlands. Retire to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
On day 4 of your 7 days Uganda Rwanda Safari, have breakfast and check-out of the Lodge before heading for an early morning game drive southwards towards Ishasha sector. If lucky, you will find the striking tree climbing lions relaxing on fig tree branches and leave for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, with a Lunch break at Savannah Resort Kihihi. Arrive in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Mountain gorilla trekking and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Take breakfast and move/be transferred to the Park Headquarters for briefing on dos and don’ts in addition to the expectations of the jungle and the trek. Later be allocated to one of the habituated gorilla families and head into the jungles to search for the gorillas. You will have one hour with them, then descend to the Park Headquarters for a trekking certificate and to the Lodge for Lunch. Leave for Volcanoes National Park through Katuna border, arriving late in the evening to freshen up then be served a hot delicious meal.

Day 6: Golden monkey tracking and visit to the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village
On this day you will be trekking golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park and starts with breakfast. This is followed by transfer to the jungles in search for these cunning primates and finding them takes 1-2 hours because the occupy the lower slopes of the Virunga Volcanoes characterized by Bamboo forest. You will find them jumping from one tree branch to another and spend one hour with them.
In the evening you will undertake a less physical activity-visit to the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village for a taste of traditional Rwandan dishes, visit to the local herbalist, invigorating traditional dances and music. Retire to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Depart for Kigali City
Have breakfast and leave for Kigali City, have a tour of the City upon arrival. This tour will lead to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Site, craft markets and local markets among others. Later have Lunch and be transferred to Kigali International Airport for departure flight.
