Description
The International Tropical Forestry Commission (ITFC) have two simple guest houses with dormitory style bunk bed accommodation available which visitors to Ruhija utilise. One property adjacent the parks staff camp can accommodate 8 people and a second property in what is the local trading centre can sleep 12 people.
Camping is also possible on the lawn in front of and next to the Guest House located by the parks staff quarters. Bedding, firewood and paraffin lanterns are made available for those staying in either guest house.
Bookings although rarely necessary can be made through UWA in Kampala. Only basic foodstuffs are available in the trading centre. Meals are not provided by ITFC and you will need to self cater. At over 2000m in altitude it can be very cold when camping at Ruhija. Having a suitable sleeping bag will add some comfort to what could be a cold night.
