Aside from delicious meals, this bar also offers a practical training institution for local disadvantaged youths living adjacent to Buhoma sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This is through the Volcanoes Safaris Partnership Trust (VSPT), a non-organization which connects Volcanoes’ Rwanda and Uganda luxury safari lodges to local communities and conservation activities. It is a perfect training ground for future hospitality workers not only to Volcanoes facilities but also in the surrounding areas.

The initiative equips the trainees with skills so as to obtain a successful employment in the hospitality. Part of equipping locals with skills includes engaging in internships when the trainees after the 3 months’ training.

About the VSPT –Volcanoes Safaris Partnership Trust

The VSPT is a non-profit organization in Uganda, an initiative that links Volcanoes Safaris Lodges to the conservation activities and local communities. It is funded through Volcanoes Safaris and its visitors plus the private donations. It is intended to enriching the livelihoods of local communities, promote great ape consideration, restoring the natural habitats and collaborate with local residents in the adjacent communities. It also works together with the stakeholders and overall, this is intended to minimize the human-wildlife conflicts.
